Vitamins & Supplements: One of the surest ways to maintain good health and combat illness is to keep the body’s natural defense mechanisms functioning optimally. Good nutrition is essential to achieving this goal. However, the nutrient value of most of our commercially produced food has been substantially reduced over the past 50 years as a result of over processing and the use of chemical additives and preservatives. Supplementation of vitamins and minerals has now become essential to insuring that we receive our recommended daily allowance of these. Unfortunately, many commercially manufactured nutritional supplements also contain unhealthy additives and preservatives. The vitamin and mineral supplements that we carry, however, are hypoallergenic . They do not contain the normal allergens from sources such as wheat, corn, yeast, soy, sugar, eggs, dyes or other additives. The manufacturers use the purest products and manufacturing methods available to them, and whenever possible, they use organically grown pants for their sources.

Personal Care Products: One common source of pollutant exposure is the daily care products we use for skin cleansing, hair washing, and body odor reduction. Commonly, commercial soaps and shampoos, body and face lotions, make-up, deodorants, and colognes are manufactured with a variety of chemical preservatives, additives, fragrances, and/or dyes, any of which can cause adverse reactions in sensitive individuals. To combat this situation, we offer a variety of personal health products that are naturally or organically produced and 100% free of the contaminants frequently found in commercial products.

Clothing: The fabrics used in clothing are a particularly insidious source of pollution. Natural fabrics can become contaminated during the manufacturing process when dyes and chemicals are added to them. Synthetic fabrics, which are oil based, are also
chemically contaminated. For those individuals seeking a less polluted lifestyle, careful consideration of the fabrics used in clothing is essential. The least polluted fabrics are untreated 100% silk and 100% organic cotton. The clothing we sell is 100% organic cotton in natural colors of light beige, light brown, or beige and brown striped. Home Improvement Products: Many commonly used home improvement products undergo manufacturing and processing treatment that involve chemicals. Often, these chemicals remain in the products and then contaminate the air in the environments where they are used. Even products used on building exteriors can create problems for indoor air, since vapors can seep through the inside. Those seeking optimum health through a reduction of exposure to environmental pollution over it to themselves to use products that are nontoxic and odor free. For towels, shower curtains, blankets, and pillows the least polluted fabric will always be untreated 100% natural cotton. All or bath and bedding products are made from natural cotton.

Water Filtration Systems: Sources of drinking water are springs, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, wells, and rain cisterns. While most of these sources of water were clean at one time in the history of the planet, population growth coupled with the adoption of public policies that have not served to ensure that maintenance of pure water at its source have contributed to widespread water contamination. Yet water purity is critical to maintaining human health. Individuals interested in securing optimum health must pay attention to the source of their water. Not only will they ingest contaminants from drinking water, they will also absorb pollutants when they breathe in the steam of their showers and they will absorb contaminants through skin contact when they wash. As well, pollutants will contaminate the foods that are washed and prepared with tap water from, public water supplies. For those wanting to protect their health by controlling the quality of the water they admit into their home, we offer a variety of water filtration systems.
Saunas: Saunas can help safeguard health by mobilizing pollutants contained in body fat and eliminating them through perspiration. Under medical supervision, saunas combined with physical therapy have been shown to significantly reduce the contaminant load of the moderately sick chemically sensitive patient.
Saunas sold through the Foundation are designed with the requisites of the chemically sensitive person in mind. As a result these units are manufactured with techniques and materials that insure the utmost safety, comfort, quality and durability. Before installation in the sauna, each heater is hand cleaned and run outside of the sauna to burn off the residual oil found on steel heating elements. All models are run hot and aired for several 1 hour cycles before shipment. Recommended by leading authorities in clinical ecology, these units are suitable for the chemically sensitive individual and general population.
Each sauna model is a complete, self-contained, free-standing sauna room, with a mounted AUL or CSA (Canadian) laboratory approved, stainless steel, Scandinavian style heater and a filtered air ventilation system. Saunas are constructed of premium grades of untreated, dried, white poplar wood, heat tempered safety glass, and non corrosive screws. Synthetic materials are not used. Saunas feature a glass door, wall choices of wood or glass, a towel bar, screened inlet air vents, a carbon filtered outlet air vent, comfortable elevated benches, a sloped backrest, and a glass and metal sauna thermometer. Models with less than three glass walls come with a mounted and wired, UL approved wall light, made of metal and glass. Saunas can be disassembled and moved.
